Welcome to the Bradford Guest House!
Built in the spring of 1860 by Council Grove's first physician, James H. Bradford, the Bradford home is the oldest home remaining alongside the Santa Fe Trail in Kansas, and is the oldest residence remaining in Council Grove.
Dr. Bradford was the physician to the Kaw tribe for ten years and served the medical needs of early settlers and travelers along the Santa Fe Trail. The Bradford home was divided into five apartments in the 1930s and was substantially remodeled and returned to a private, single family home in 2007.
We look forward to your visit!
